About Us
Pelden Drukpai Choetshog (Bhutan Center Inc.) was founded in 2023 by His Eminence Tsula Lopen Rinpoche Karma Rangdol during his visit to New York on the occasion of Zhabdrung Kuchoe. The sole vision of His Eminence was to create an organization that would support the community, especially the youth, in their practice and preservation of the Buddhist heritage as practiced in Bhutan. Consistent with our founding vision, our 501(c)3 nonprofit organization is dedicated to promoting Bhutanese Buddhist values and culture.
We are committed to providing a platform for the promotion and transmission of Buddhist principles and philosophy, including meditation practices within the community. In addition, we strive to serve the community through the organization of events on auspicious days, and teachings and practices on a regular basis. Through our events and activities we hope to provide a safe space for learning and the practice of Buddhism for our community.
Mission
At Pelden Drukpai Choetshog, our mission is to preserve and promote Bhutanese culture and traditions, with a particular emphasis on Buddhist traditions. We achieve this by organizing events and offering teachings and practices related to Buddhism. Our objective is to provide a platform for the community to continue their spiritual journey while sharing with the younger generation the benefits of developing the spiritual mind and developing an understanding of our cultural roots.
Vision
Our Vision is to create a society where cultural and religious diversity is not only acknowledged but celebrated and respected. We envision a future where people from all walks of life come together, embracing and learning from each other’s traditions. By providing a platform for cultural and religious exchange, we aim to foster unity and understanding among individuals and communities.
